The Increasingly United States: Lecture & Reception

 

Join us on the eve of the Democratic National Convention to hear Daniel Hopkins (A.B. '00, Ph.D. '07), Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania, discuss the 2016 presidential race and his forthcoming book on the nationalization of American politics, "The Increasingly United States."

 

Dr. Hopkins will discuss the evolution of increasingly nationalized politics and political identification in the United States and the ramifications of those trends for the 2016 Presidential Election and both major political parties.  Please join us for this fascinating look at the political landscape of 2016 and the future of polarized politics.

 

Speaker Bio
Dr. Daniel J. Hopkins is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania.  His research centers on American politics, with a special emphasis on racial and ethnic politics, local politics, political behavior, and research methods.  His research and writings have been published in the Washington Post, FiveThirtyEight.com, and numerous academic journals.
