Speaker Series: “The Teenage Brain” by Dr. Frances E. Jensen
Renowned neurologist Frances E. Jensen, MD, will discuss her New York Times Bestselling Book, The Teenage Brain, and be interviewed by prominent Clinical Psychologist, Lucy Faulconbridge, PhD. There will be a reception preceding the discussion with books available for purchase and signature following the interview.
In her book, Dr. Jensen explores adolescent brain functioning and development in the context of learning, stress and memory, sleep, addiction and decision making and she dispels commonly held myths about teens. Dr. Jensen will share practical suggestions for adults and teenagers negotiating the mysterious and magical world of adolescent biology.
Frances E. Jensen, MD is Professor and Chair of the Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She was Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and Director of Translational Neuroscience and Epilepsy Research at Boston Children’s Hospital. Lucy Faulconbridge is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania and she specializes in the treatment of eating/weight disorders and depression. She obtained her PhD in Neuroscience and Clinical Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, and she has a private practice in Wayne.
