Scheduled Announcements: A Hidden Opportunity in Plain Sight
Scheduled announcements are one of the principal sources of information for investors. At the market-wide level, government agencies release news about unemployment, inflation and Federal Reserve policies at a pre-defined schedule. At the individual security level, firms report earnings also at a largely pre-set schedule. While many investors avoid scheduled announcements because of perceived high risk, these periods actually represent an extraordinary opportunity for investors. This presentation will discuss trading strategies that take advantage of this opportunity, with double-digit annual returns and low risk.
