Lecture Series with Guest Speaker Dr. Marisa Porges

Dr. Porges (AB '00) will speak on emerging issues in national security.  While an undergraduate at Harvard, Dr. Porges joined the R.O.T.C. and after graduating began her career in the United States Navy as an Electronic Countermeasures Officer (ECMO) aboard the EA-6B Prowler.  Dr. Porges went on to serve as a Foreign Policy Advisor for the Office of the Secretary of Defense and became a counterterrorism policy advisor for the United States Department of the Treasury.  She served in the Office of Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes where she developed strategies to combat money laundering, terrorist financing, and criminal activities in the U.S. and abroad.

  

Dr. Porges became an International Affairs Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations in 2009 and also served at the White House, as White House Fellow to the National Economic Council.  She has been published in Foreign Affairs, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and Christian Science Monitor, among others.

  

Dr. Porges is currently Head of The Baldwin School.
