Soledad O'Brien (AB '88): "The Next Big Story"
The World Affairs Council of Philadelphia invites the Harvard Radcliffe Club as a cooperating organization to join them for a special program featuring Soledad OBrien CNN anchor and author of the Next Big Story, on October 24, 2011.
Since joining CNN in 2003, Soledad O'Brien has reported breaking news from around the globe and has produced a number of award-winning, record-breaking and critically acclaimed documentaries for the In America unit on issues ranging from education in America to the impact of Haiti's devastating earthquake on the country's children.
Her assignments over the years have included coverage of Hurricane Katrina, the tsunami in Southeast Asia, London's terrorism attacks in 2005, the historic 2008 U.S. elections, and the Japan earthquake and tsunami of 2011. Drawing on these experiences and her work on the front lines of some of today's most provocative issues, Soledad joins us to offer her candid perspective on where we are as a country and where we are going.
