Special Third Thursday Workshop - What is Your Personal Brand?
Just starting your career? Looking to move up the ladder? Or maybe considering a major career change? If so, this workshop is for you! Join us for a very special seminar on Personal Branding with Melissa Fristrom of Core Allies, LLC.
Personal branding is how we market ourselves to others. In our everyday lives we all interact with brands, hundreds and thousands of them, related to the goods and services we buy everywhere all the time. We too have our own “brands” and thus our very own unique brand identity. Knowing what our own brand is tells us a great deal about what we are best at, and in today’s often overcrowded job market, that can help us build a competitive edge.
For this event, the Harvard Business School club and the Harvard-Radcliffe Club of Philadelphia have partnered to bring Melissa Fristrom and her seminar on Personal Branding to the Acorn Club on Thursday evening, November 17th. Workshop materials will be provided.
5:30 - Networking session (light hors d'oeuvre and cash bar)
6:45 - Introductions
7:00 - Workshop begins
Melissa Fristrom
Previously a senior-level executive, Melissa Wilbricht Fristrom founded Core Allies, LLC to leverage her expertise in positioning and branding people. She draws on a depth and breadth of knowledge from her extensive leadership experience in a wide range of situations, from Fortune 100 companies to start-up ventures, from for-profit to not-for-profit endeavors, from successful companies to cash-strapped firms.
Her business career has been built on strong academic foundations. Melissa earned a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Harvard Business School. After a decade of real business experience, she went on to earn a Doctor of Psychoanalysis degree (PsyaD) from the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis. The research for her dissertation, "Self-Generated Limits to Success: A Case in Moving On." enables her to identify the often unconscious factors limiting her clients' success.
Overview of the Workshop:
Unlike other programs which typically involve a speaker and an audience, this “workshop” is unique due to its high level of interactivity. Using proprietary tools and thought exercises, Melissa will guide you and your fellow participants as you begin the process of:
- Identifying your unique gifts and talents.
- Discovering the ideal job that allows you to fully use your gifts and talents.
- Creating a personal brand that will help you land that job by communicating your unique gifts and talents.
Participants in this two-hour workshop will also benefit from the opportunity to be coached live by Melissa, as well as hear about specific case examples where individuals have used branding to take their careers to the next level.
