A native of southeast Pennsylvania, U.S. Attorney McSwain graduated from West Chester Henderson High School and attended Yale University as an undergraduate. He then joined the United States Marine Corps and served as an infantry officer and scout/sniper platoon commander in the Marines before obtaining his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 2000 where he served as an editor of the law review. Prior to his nomination by the President and confirmation by the U.S. Senate to the position of U.S. Attorney, Mr. McSwain was a law clerk to Third Circuit Judge Marjorie Rendell, an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District, and a partner at the law firm of Drinker Biddle & Reath.
