PA Youth Vote | Why Youth Voices Matter ***Updated!!!***
In the 2020 election, 53%-56% of citizens 18-24 voted—the lowest percentage of any age group. What’s the cause of this disparity and what should be done about it? Join us for this upcoming event with PA Youth Vote, a non-partisan, non-profit coalition of educators, students, and organizations working across Pennsylvania to get out the youth vote.
Marissa Friedman ‘14 and Eric Jjemba ’21 of PA Youth Vote will discuss the issues of voter turnout and youth outreach in Pennsylvania, as well as the nonpartisan movement in PA to expand access to the vote. Our guests will discuss different causes of low voter turnout across age groups, as well as strategies for increasing young voter turnout (including youth programming and peer-to-peer voter registration, teacher and organizational partnerships, and nonpartisan advocacy). Join us for a lively discussion of a highly topical issue!
