Harvard Moves: Schuylkill River Trail Walk (In Person)

Please join us for a fitness walk along the Schuylkill River Trail in conjunction with the global HAA *Harvard Moves* program to encourage outdoor fitness and support for undergraduate financial aid! *** Meeting Information ***

• There will be one guide leading the walk.

• We will meet in Paine’s Park 10:15am and start walking 10:30am north along the riverbank then south along the opposite riverbank.

• The walk will go for approximately 80 minutes (4 miles) and conclude by 12pm.

• Bring your own filled eco-friendly water bottles

• Rain or shine! In the event of heavy rain, we will shorten the walk. In the event of a thunderstorm, we will cancel the walk.

• Please download the activity waiver by clicking here and bring a signed copy to the event or e-mail the completed form to admin@hrcphilly.com.  All adults need to sign and date the waiver and list minors in their party. 

The Schuylkill River begins at its headwaters in the mountains near the tiny coal-region town of Tuscarora, PA and flows southeasterly for 137 miles through Schuylkill, Berks, Montgomery, Chester, and Philadelphia Counties on its way to its confluence with the Delaware River. The Schuylkill River Watershed is the most densely populated region in Pennsylvania. Over 3.2 million people live, work, and play in this 1,700-square mile area (over 1.2 million acres). Almost one-third of the state’s population lives within its boundaries and nearly 25% of the U.S. population lives within a five-hour drive of the Schuylkill.
