Peter Miller: Forgotten Woman of American Modernism
Join us for fascinating conversation uncovering Peter Miller's artistry and legacy at Morton Contemporary Gallery.
Discover the captivating story of Peter Miller, born Henrietta Myers (PAFA '34), an artist, philanthropist, mystic, and fearlessly courageous woman. Believing she would be treated more fairly by critics, peers, and audiences, Henrietta decided to adopt a public and artistic persona of a man. Miller's surrealist modernist paintings, found in a Catskills barn in the depths of the COVID 2020 pandemic, have been restored and are on display at Morton Contemporary through May 2024.
This Harvard Club evening in conjunction with Morton Contemporary Gallery will feature Paul Gratz (PAFA '83), owner and head conservator of Gratz Gallery & Conservation Studio, and John Randolph, family friend of Miller. This exclusive talk will be moderated by Debbie Morton, gallery owner and curator.
