Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum Concert
As part of their winter tour, the Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum will be in Philadelphia and performing at the First Unitarian Church on Monday, January 19th. Come hear them sing at this free concert!
The Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum is Harvard University’s nationally acclaimed mixed-voice choral ensemble, devoted to performing a wide range of repertoire spanning the fifteenth century to the present day. Founded in 1971 after the merger of Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges, Collegium was created to bring together and reimagine the choral traditions of both institutions. The ensemble is known for its adventurous programming and collaborative spirit, with performances that range from Renaissance motets and choral-orchestral masterworks to newly commissioned works, student compositions, and cross-disciplinary projects. Recent concerts have taken the group from Harvard’s historic Sanders Theatre and Memorial Church to Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and international tours abroad. Its performances have been praised as “heartfelt,” “thrilling and deeply moving,” and offering an “ideal balance of transparency and warmth” (Boston Globe, Boston Musical Intelligencer, Boston Classical Review).
