Tim McDermott, MBA '01 is President of the Philadelphia Union, where he oversees all business operations for the club, including Philadelphia Union II and the Union Academy. Since joining in 2016 as Chief Business Officer, he has led significant growth in the team’s brand, fan base, and revenue, helping achieve record partnership
and ticket sales and earning multiple industry awards for fan experience and digital innovation.
Before the Union, McDermott held senior leadership roles with the Philadelphia 76ers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Capitals, driving major advances in marketing, fan engagement, and revenue growth. His career also includes experience with Comcast and early roles in the NFL.
McDermott holds an MBA from Harvard and a bachelor’s degree from Cornell, where he was a three-year varsity football letter winner. He has been recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 and received the CMO Club Programmatic Marketing Award.
